Department's role:
Monitoring and evaluation of groundwater status in Slovakia
Department's main activities:
- groundwater quantity monitoring (National Monitoring System of water - subsystem groundwater quantity)
- groundwater quality monitoring (National Monitoring System of water - subsystem groundwater quality)
- national register of the hydro-geological research and survey results oriented on groundwater sources and resources evaluation
- national register of groundwater users and management of national groundwater abstraction register
- processing of State water management balance - quantitative water management balance of groundwater
- processing of State water management balance - qualitative water management balance of groundwater
- secretariat of Committee for Available Groundwater Quantity Classification established under Ministry of Environment of Slovak Republic
- implementation of Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and Council establishing a framework for Community in the field of water policy - national working group for classification and evaluation of groundwater status
- expert opinions and providing data exports in the field of groundwater quantity and quality monitoring, abstraction of groundwater and balance of groundwater for water management
- coordination of international activities and providing of international obligations in the field of groundwater quantity and quality on the national level (ICPDR, OECD, WISE)
- coordination of international projects, national research and development projects oriented on the groundwater status evaluation
